Gun Control and Gunsmithing

Every time there is a shooting at a church, school, movie theater or airport, people say that the way to stop it from happening again is to make it harder to get guns. So I thought I would show everyone how this is not a meaningful way of changing anything.

Many people on the right say that it is a bad idea to make it harder to get guns because "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is to have a good guy with a gun". But I do not agree with them, and that is not the point I am going to make.

The point I am going to make, is that guns are easy to make. Guns are not an advanced technology. It would be much harder to make a smart phone, or even a microwave than it would be to make your own gun.

The part of a gun that does the loading, firing, etc, is called the action. And it is the hardest part to get when making your own gun.

For example, with 3D printed guns, the only part it prints is the action. You have to get your own stock and barrel.

You can easily order a stock and barrel online, as those parts of the gun don't actually do anything.

Here are some videos about home made guns, that require nothing but home made parts.

Here are a few Gunsmithing guides

There are even guides for making your own machine guns

Guns are not hard to make. There are even guns made using rubber bands, because all you have to do is have a barrel and a piece of metal that slaps the bullet hard enough. Putting restrictions on companies selling guns and the retailers selling the guns from those companies is not going to stop anything.

Guns should just be used properly, and more people should know how to use them.

The Context of 2017 Politics

Here is some context for the state of Politics in 2017.

First, around 2008, the country had began to become interested in changing some semi-old norms. Marijuana became a big topic, and when the DEA raided dispensaries many people supported the protesters and not the DEA. A lot of social groups who would have in the 80s been completely against legalization of Marijuana began to say that they did not care if people smoked Marijuana, and ultimately supported legalization.

Then Obama was elected. This spurred both the left and the right, the left in attempting to define a new era where the president did not have to be a white man, and the right in the sense of states rights and separation from the Federal Government.

Out of this came the Tea Party. The historical Tea Party was about "Taxation without Representation" and the modern iteration of the Tea Party felt as if they were not properly represented by their Government. They claimed to support fighting the tyrannical Government. But once Ferguson happened, and Police started riots by being overbearing on Peaceful protesters, turning them into rioters, the Tea Party was proven to be a farce. Many of the same people who claimed to oppose a Tyrannical Government were in support of the Government when it came to Tyranny against that particular community. And the Tea Party disintegrated. But the Democratic party also took a hit, because Democrats did not take the position they would have in the past, they supported the Police and continue to support the Police, no matter how bad it gets.

But pieces of the Tea Party remained. In Congress a new batch of Republicans had been elected by the voters during the Tea Party boom, and they wanted to pull the mat out from under the Government and send it toppling, or so they said. What they really wanted was to be in control themselves.

An example of this is the Cu-De-Vote that was staged against Speaker Boehner, in which the Congress planned a vote and showed that they had overwhelming support for replacing the Speaker with a new Speaker. Then the Pope came to the US and Speaker Boehner stepped down on his own. Then there was a short period where no one was sure who would be speaker, and Paul Ryan (the current Speaker) avidly suggested that he did not want to be, and would not be, Speaker. But now he is Speaker.

Then the 2016 election happened. Around 20 Republicans ran for office, and Donald Trump took the lead. The new Congress said that they did not want him, they would have anyone but Trump. First most of their support was behind Marco Rubio, then it shifted to Ted Cruz. But they were unable to get ahead of Donald Trump.

And now Donald Trump is about to be President on January 20th, 2017, and the Republicans are for the most part falling in line behind him. Many of them did not want to align themselves with him, but they are in a position where they have to. A New York Condo builder has been elected as the Republican candidate, and they have to deal with that.

That is the state of Politics in 2017.

A Wall at the Border & Cartels

If Donald Trump actually tries to build a wall, not only will there be protests at the construction sites on both the American and Mexican sides, cartel attacks on the sites and probably shootings (the border patrol already reports snipers at the border), there will probably be attacks on the supply lines to the wall. There are two sides. "The Border" has two countries that can both access it.

And the cartels are not some small little groups, many of them are larger than the Trump organization, with Ranches, Farms, Labs and tens of thousands of employees each. Sometimes they even supply more social services to the people of a region than the Mexican Federal or local Governments. And the way they make their money is by utilizing American drug laws (which ban people from selling drugs in most States) allowing them to control the prices and stock. As long as the Police/Congress/etc protect the cartels interests (restricting drug trade to only illegal markets), the cartels will have funding.

At the border it gets crazy and the border itself (an imaginary line) shouldn't even really exist, there are cars at the bottom of the Rio Grande right now because people drove their cars across the border so that Police couldn't chase them, and that's not even getting in to the Cartel activity or anything like that. And in Mexico, the cartel has open gun battles with the Police, you can find tons of videos from Mexico where there are people just driving somewhere and they are caught in a zone where there is crossfire between the Federales and the Cartels.

The cartels go to people's houses and ask them "Bala o Plata" which means "Bullet or Silver" and they will either take your land/services and give you money or take your land/equipment and kill you. And this all exists because of the drug laws in America, without the drug laws in America there would not be the inflated price on drugs, meaning there would be no money for the cartel in drugs. The border actually keeps the cartel alive. A wall is not going to do anything to stop the cartels from doing anything.

There is a Cartel called Los Zetas (the Zetas). At one point the US sent Black Ops troops to Mexico to train some Mexican soldiers. The Mexican Government wasn't paying them enough, and Los Zetas offered them more, so they joined the Zetas and now the Zetas have those troops working for them. Often times it is hard to tell the difference between the cartels and the Federales.

The cartels have submarines that they ship cocaine in, and they run much of the Government, Mexico is known by everyone there to have a very corrupt Government. In America when someone talks about conspiracies, it's like "Maybe, but who knows" or "That's far fetched" in Mexico it's like "Yeah, we all know". You can't just build a wall and say "Now stay out", it just gets worse from there.

For the most part, this stays out of the US and is a Mexican phenomenon. But if America builds a wall, the border is going to erupt into a war zone.

This is a Soap Opera on Telemundo, they are called Novelas in Spanish
It is about corruption and conflict between the Cartels and the Government.

Building a Wall is not a way to solve anything. If anything, *trying* to build a wall will make things much worse.
